How do I opt an employee into auto enrolment?

Cintra iQ  has an  Auto Enrolment  ( AE)  facility, which takes you through the process of amending a pension scheme set up, defining which payment headings are pensionable and which headings are classed as  Qualifying Earnings , running an assessment, and enrolling employees into the relevant  Auto Enrolment  scheme.  Cintra iQ  can also manage  Opt ins  and  Opt outs.
 
Any employee who has been assessed as a Non-eligible Job holder can opt into a qualifying scheme and you should communicate this to them within a month of the assessment date.  Any Opt In notice received only becomes active in the following pay reference period. If this employee is then assessed to be an Entitled Worker in the following pay reference period the Opt In notice will not be activated. This will automatically be actioned when the employee once again is assessed as a Non-eligible Job holder.
 
Any employee who has been assessed as an Entitled Worker can request to join a pension scheme. The scheme does not have to be a qualifying scheme.
 

  December Opt In Deductions

The December Opt In deductions would start in the following month - January. Your record will be displayed in the Pension - Auto Enrolment window's Opt In and Join Requests tab. Come January, you are automatically moved the employees to the Employees to be Enrolled tab where you can proceed with normal enrolment.

 

To opt in an employee

  1. Navigate to the Pension & Benefits Schemes tab in the employee's Expenses & Benefits window.
    Go to Cintra iQ: Employment record> Forms> Expenses/Benefits.
  2. Click the Auto-Enrolment History/Requests button. The Auto-Enrolment History window appears.
  3. Navigate to the Opt In and Join Requests tab.
  4. Right-click: New in the pane. The Opt In and Join Requests form appears.
  5. Create a new Opt-in\Join Request. 
  6. Click the OK button.
  7. Click the OK button to save and exit from the Expenses & Benefits form.
  8. Return to the Pension-Auto Enrolment window to re-assess your workforce.
    Go to Cintra iQ: Payroll> Payroll Tools> Pensions> Auto-Enrolment
  9. Select the Payroll.
  10. Select the Period.
  11. Click the Assess button. The bottom of the Employees to be Enrolled tab displays the Entitled Workers who have chosen to join a pension scheme.
