How do I prepare further education teaching data and post data for import?

Within Cintra iQ, you can create a Further Education Workforce Data (FEWD) staff record to be submitted to the Further Education body. Use the attached FEWD_Cintra.xlsx and FEWD_Import_POST_Cintra.xlsx files as templates to collect your data before you import it into Cintra iQ. 

 

  Important:

From the year 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022, it is a mandatory requirement for FE establishments to submit further education workforce data. For further details visit the UK government web site at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/further-education-workforce-data-collection

Tips for filling in data

1. You can enter data in any of the Person Id, DFES Number or NI Number columns in order for the import process to identify which employee in the Cintra iQ database the record refers to, 
2. You can track the progress of the spreadsheet completion by entering the First Name and Last Name of each employee. 

     Note:

   The First Name and Last Name columns are not used in the import to identify employee records.

3. Dates should be entered in the format DD-MMM-YYYY, e.g. 25-May-1967
4. You should complete columns I to Y by selecting one of the options in the drop-down lists which become available when you click in a column.

Tips for filling in data

• Column A should be completed by entering a valid Post Reference (i.e. a post reference which exists in the Cintra iQ database.)
• Columns B to C should be completed by selecting one of the options in the drop down lists which become available when the user navigates to a column. 

Saving Data

When you use the templates for collating data in Excel, you should save the data as a spreadsheet in order to retain the drop-down functionality. Once you have entered the data in the relevant worksheets, you must save the file in a .csv format before importing it into Cintra iQ.
