How do I set up attachment of earning orders?

You may receive a court order from either a council or agency who wish to recover money directly through the employee's pay. With Cintra iQ, you can set up different types of attachment of earning orders (AOEs) so that money can be automatically taken from an employee's wages . Depending on the type of AOE order, you can perform the following:
  1. Enter the Deduction Amount on the Employee Record.
  2. Set the Deduction Amount to be calculated automatically.

  Important

Council Tax AOEs are calculated automatically using the deduction tables. Child Support (Ongoing) orders would have set amounts on the order which are entered on the employee record. Or, you might have a direct earnings attachment order such as a court order for an employee to pay parking fines.

To set up attachment of earning orders

I have received a Third Party court order demanding payment from an employee, therefore I must deduct the payments and possibly any AOE admin fees. I should perform the following.
  1. Decide which deduction heading to display on the employee's payslip. For more information, see How Do I Create a Deduction Heading?
  2. Specify to which Third Party the payment should be made. For more information, see How Do I Create Third Party Definitions for AOE Orders?
  3. Set up the court order that can be applied to the employee, so that money is deducted from the employee's pay. For more information, see How Do I Set up AOE Orders to be Applied Against an Employee?
  4. Deduct the AOE amounts from an employee's pay. For more information, see How Do I Enter Deduction and Protected Earning Amounts?
  5. Perform a Third Party payment run. For more information, see How Do I Pay Third Parties.
