File Permissions Security Definition allows you to restrict the ability to create new records and/or delete records in the Navigator, depending on how it is set. When creating the definition, you should consider the restriction you require for the Folders that contain the records. For information about the procedures, see Field Security Tasks.
 

  Important:

You must have System Administration permission in order to access this functionality.

Before you begin...

Consider how you would like the records to be treated by a  user who has a particular role. Would you like the user to be able to add records to a certain folder, but not have the ability to delete any. Or would you like the user to be able to delete records, but not add to them.
Go to Cintra iQ: Menu bar> Systems Administration> Manage Security> File Permission Security Definition
 

About the Create File Permission Definition window

Within the Field Permission Security Definitions window, you can  create a list of folders to which you can restrict adding or deleting records. You can perform the following:
  1. Allow records to be added to the desired sub folder.
  2. Allow records to be added to all the sub folders.
  3. Restrict records from being added to all sub folders.
  4. Allow records to be deleted from the desired sub folder.
  5. Allow records to be deleted from all  sub folders.
  6. Restrict records from being deleted from all sub folders.
 
Task Link
Title Enter the name of the File Permission definition. 
Allow records to be Added to: pane This pane contains all Folders found in Cintra iQ. They are located next to the Navigator. Toggle the desired Folder to restrict whether  records can be added.

This pane contains all Folders found in Cintra iQ. They are located next to the Navigator. Toggle the desired Folder to restrict whether the records can be deleted. 
 

Buttons

Use the following buttons to perform various tasks. 
 
Task Link
Enable All Click this button to allow records to be added to/deleted from all the Folders within Cintra iQ.
Restrict All Click this button to disallow records from being added to/deleted from all the Folders within Cintra iQ.

 

How do I restrict records from being added to or deleted from the navigator?

  1. Login to Cintra iQ as SYSADM.
  2. Create a File Permission Definition.
      1. Navigate to the File Permissions Definition window.
      2. Enter a Title.
      3. Toggle the desired folder to which you do not want  to allow records to be added.
      4. Toggle the desired folder from which you do not want  to allow records to be deleted.
      5. Click the OK button. The new definition appears in the File Permission Definitions window.
  3. Set up a Security Profile.
  4. Continue to assign the Security Profile to a user.
